ServiceCenter Web Available November 2010
FSi is pleased to announce that development for the web based version of LobbyCentral is nearing completion and will be available November 2010!
Dubbed ServiceCenter Web, this web based interface will simplify deployment of LobbyCentral and make accessing the system as simple as opening a web browser.
Q: What is ServiceCenter Web?
A: Service Center Web is a web-based version of Service Center, which is the LobbyCentral desktop component that provides the customer check-in/check-out functionality.
Q: Is LobbyCentral required to use ServiceCenter Web?
A: Yes. SC Web is just another means to create and service customer requests. It does not replace the core LobbyCentral system.
Q: Will ServiceCenter Web contain all features of Service Center?
A: SC Web wil initially contain the primary functions of Service Center, such as check-in/check-out, searching requests, and all administrative functions. Additional functionality will continue to be added in future releases.
Q: Can I run ServiceCenter Web with desktop Service Center?
A: Yes! SC Web is simply another component to LobbyCentral. You can choose one or the other or both at the same time.
Q: Will ServiceCenter Web provide the audio/visual notification pop-ups like Service Center?
A: Yes. Through the installation of a stand-alone desktop component, users will receive the "Toast" and audio notifications when a request is created.
Q: What about reports?
A: Reports will be continue to be accessed through LobbyCentral Web and will be linked from SC Web. LobbyCentral Web's name will be changed to "Report Center" to prevent confusion between the two products.
Q: How much will SC Web cost?
A: SC Web will be included in your annual maintenance and will be available at no charge.
Q: How can I try out SC Web?
A: We will launch a test site for customers to try out ServiceCenter Web online.
Q: What are the system requirements?
A: Windows 2003 / 2008 (32 or 64 bit), .NET Framework 4, 512MB RAM. Users will need Internet Explorer 7 or higher, or FireFox 3.x. IE 8 is recommended. The desktop notification component requires .NET Framework 2.0.
Q: When will SC Web be available?
A: SC Web is scheduled for general availability in late November 2010. This is provided that our pilot credit union reports satisfactory results. The release date could be pushed out if changes are necessary.
